On the estate

Things to do after dark

Fishing comes first, but the estate is full of other ways to spend the night with friends.

A player on a pier landing a fish on the glowing Moon Ring

Fish by moonlight

Cast a line, then land your catch on the Moon Ring: click as the fish crosses the light.

A player in a witch hat holding a bug net in a dark forest

Catch night bugs

Swing a net at 25 night creatures. Some of them are… not okay.

A player in a witch’s hat and a gold-trimmed robe under the moon

Dress up

Eyes, hair, hats, capes, ears, tails and gothic outfits: over 300 things to wear.

A player at the keys of a great pipe organ

Play the organ

The cathedral organ really plays. So do the bells.

A chalk drawing of a smiling face in a witch hat on the courtyard stones

Draw with chalk

Draw on the courtyard’s stones, for everyone on the estate to see.

A brass telescope on a tripod pointed at the full moon over the cathedral

Stargaze

Look through the brass telescope. Constellations draw themselves in, and some nights, a comet.

A player beside the fountain as a token ripples the water

Make a wish

Toss a token in the courtyard fountain. One wish a night: your next three catches are a little luckier.

Players sitting by a campfire in front of a lit tent

Gather by the fire

Sit round the campfire with friends, chat, wave, and roast a marshmallow.

Mini-game

Try the Moon Ring

This is how fish are landed in BLOODCAST, with the game’s own numbers. Cast, wait for the bite, then click, tap or press Space while the fish crosses the glowing arc. Its bright heart is a perfect pull.

Rarer fish need more pulls, swim faster and give you a narrower arc. Miss twice and the line snaps.

Feeling brave? Summon the Blood Moon at the top of the page: the fish get quicker, and rarer.

Cast your line, then land the fish on the ring.

  • BLOODCAST just got 10 new things

And number one has been locked since day one…

    New place: the Whispering River

A river now runs right across the estate: from a spring in the north-east hills, past the woods and under the east avenue, into the Moonlit Lake and out the other side. It has fish of its own, and footbridges all along it, so there’s always a way across nearby.

  4. Devlog

    New place: the Stargazer’s Meadow

A picnic meadow south-west of the courtyard: blankets and lanterns, wildflowers, a ring of star stones and a star dais with an armillary sphere. Touch a star stone and its constellation lights up in the sky. There’s a brass telescope too: look through it at the moon and the stars, and on some nights (about one in seven) a comet.

  5. Devlog

    The courtyard fountain takes wishes

Toss a token at one of the fountain’s four candle faces and make a wish. One wish a night: the fountain hears it, and your next three catches that night are a little luckier.
